The Packers and WR Christian Watson agreed to a one-year, $13.25 million extension, according to multiple reports. Watson was scheduled to hit free agency this coming offseason but is now signed with Green Bay through the 2026 campaign.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Watson is still rehabbing the right knee injury he suffered in January. He reportedly tore the ACL and suffered additional damage, although we never got the exact details. Watson is on the PUP list and will miss at least three more games, likely more.
We'll see when Watson is ready to hit the field, but we're not optimistic about his chances of making a 2025 fantasy impact considering the timing of his injury and the depth in Green Bay's WR corps.
Dynasty Impact
The extension is more interesting for dynasty leagues. WR Romeo Doubs will be a free agent this offseason. If he's not re-signed, it'd leave Watson as the favorite for a top-three WR job alongside Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed.
Watson has struggled staying healthy as a pro. But he's been extremely efficient, with a career 16.9 yards per catch, 9.6 yards per target, and 2.03 yards per route.
He's a dynasty hold for now -- and could be a buy later in the year for teams looking ahead to 2026.
