Bears QB Caleb Williams managed just 207 passing yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's loss at Detroit. He completed 19 of 30 passes, took 4 sacks and tossed 1 INT. Tyson Bagent came on at the end of the blowout loss to account for the team's final 27 yards on 2-of-3 passing. Williams added 27 rushing yards on five attempts.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We can excuse a meh performance from Williams against the Vikings in Week 1. That defense led the league in DVOA against the pass last year, and it was HC Ben Johnson's first game at the helm.
Williams' two game against the Lions last year, though, produced a combined 590 yards, 5 TD passes, and 0 INTs.
Perhaps this year's Lions are better on D, but Williams hasn't done much through two weeks to kick off what Chicago needs to be a turnaround season for the 2024 top overall pick.
Williams gets a home matchup in Week 3 with Dallas, which allowed Russell Wilson to throw for 450 yards Sunday. After that comes a visit to the Raiders and then a Week 5 bye.
If Williams doesn't deliver a little more reason for optimism over the next two weeks, then it might be time to worry about the second-year QB.
