Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco managed just 22 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He added 1 reception for 7 yards among two targets. On the positive side, that work did lead the backfield. Kareem Hunt went 8-31 on the ground with 1 catch for 3 yards. Rookie Brashard Smith supplied 2 total yards on one rushing attempt and one incomplete target.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Pacheco has led early-down work for the Chiefs in each game so far. According to Pro Football Focus, that usage climbed from 62% of snaps on first and second downs to 70.3% in Week 2.
Pacheco also claimed most of the backfield snaps in 2-minute drill situations but ceded four of six short-yardage snaps to Hunt.
Pacheco's 57 total yards through two games aren't helping anyone, and his 3.1 yards per rush aren't inspiring. But it's possible he's coming off two of his toughest matchups.
The Eagles finished last season as the second-stingiest defense to RB scoring by our adjusted fantasy points allowed. The Chargers -- Week 1's opponent -- ranked eighth-toughest, and played from ahead in this year's meeting.
The Chiefs visit a Giants team in Week 3 that has allowed 432 and 478 yards to its first two opponents. Pacheco will still be tough to trust in Week 3 fantasy lineups, but the matchup should provide a good test of:
- whether K.C.'s offense can rebound in general
- and whether Pacheco can start helping with fantasy points soon.
A Week 4 home date with the Ravens looks less attractive. But there's upside in games against the Jaguars, Lions, Raiders, and Commanders after that.
Pacheco remains a hold for now.
