Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes heads into Monday night's games as the QB7 in Week 2 fantasy scoring. Fantasy managers can thank his rushing production for the second week in a row. Mahomes threw for just 187 yards, with 1 TD and 1 INT, on 16-of-29 passing in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Even those numbers got a large boost from a 49-yard TD connection with WR Tyquan Thornton with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Mahomes racked up 66 yards and a TD on the ground, though, with all seven of his rushes coming via scramble. His TD came from 13 yards out in the second quarter and followed a 6-57-1 rushing line from the opening loss to the Chargers.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Mahomes' 66 yards against the Eagles set a new career high for a single game. His 57 from Week 1 stand as the sixth-most of his career and a number he had reached just once since November 2022.
It's a nice reminder of how athletic Mahomes remains. But it's less nice that Mahomes' scrambling is just about the only thing working for the Chiefs on offense right now.
The QB needs more from a suffering group of pass catchers. He appears likely to get WR Xavier Worthy back in Week 3. Worthy returned for limited practices Thursday and Friday after his Week 1 shoulder injury but didn't play against Philadelphia.
Mahomes and the Chiefs get a Week 3 matchup with the Giants, likely the friendliest defense they will have faced so far. That D has allowed more than 430 yards to each of its first two opponents.
Mahomes should make for a comfy Week 3 start in fantasy. We'll see about a Week 4 home date with the Ravens. Beyond that sits a favorable stretch of matchups:
- at Jacksonville
- vs. Detroit
- vs. Las Vegas
- vs. Washington
WR Rashee Rice can return for that Raiders clash in Week 7.
