Week 1 turned up just a 35% snap share for Patriots rookie RB TreVeyon Henderson. That number shrank slightly to 32% in the Pats’ narrow Week 2 win in Miami. Henderson finished fourth on the team in carries with 5, while he ranked second among New England RBs in targets. He caught both for 30 yards.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We all want to see more touches for the explosive Henderson.
The Pats designed a screen for him in the second quarter, one that displayed his combination of visitation, burst, and power. But there wasn’t much else to like beyond that. And it didn’t help that Stevenson excelled with 4.9 yards per carry – plus 5 catches for 88 receiving yards – vs. Miami.
The plus matchup certainly helped Stevenson get into a rhythm. The Pats easily won the time of possession battle (33:45) and went a combined 8 for 13 on 3rd and 4th downs.
What’s particularly puzzling is the usage of veteran RB Antonio Gibson. The former Commander topped Henderson in carries with 5, despite playing only 17% of the snaps.
We’ll see how this backfield shakes out in the coming weeks. For now, though, Henderson will remain a low-floor fantasy option. Week 3 at least brings a Steelers defense that’s underwhelmed through two games.
