Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. totaled only 135 yards on 13 of 21 passing in a Week 2 win over the Vikings. Atlanta surprisingly won by 16 – 22 to 6 – as they rode the run game and their defense to a victory.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Call it a brutal outcome for anyone counting on Atlanta's pass catchers.
Drake London – coming off a Week 1 shoulder injury – tallied 3 catches for 49 yards. His target share? 19%. The go-to WR also lost a fumble on a 21-yard catch in the first quarter.
Darnell Mooney returned from a multi-week shoulder injury to post only 20 yards on 2 catches He saw one fewer target than London.
Kyle Pitts was below average, snagging 4 of 5 targets for 37 yards. He tied Bijan Robinson for the team lead in targets (5).
The Falcons simply didn’t need to force the pass, as they led throughout.
If there’s a silver lining here, it’s that Atlanta faces a couple of favorable opponents over the next two weeks (at Carolina, vs. Commanders). Penix still projects as a QB2 for those contests. London, meanwhile, should remain in lineups. Mooney and Pitts are fringe fantasy options for the foreseeable future.
