What They're Saying
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network: Jets coach Aaron Glenn announces that QB Justin Fields is out this week as he deals with a concussion and Tyrod Taylor will start against the Buccaneers.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Veteran QB Tyrod Taylor will start in place of Justin Fields. Taylor’s last start came in 2023 for the Giants. He played four complete games, averaging 273.75 yards passing per game. He also averaged 21 yards rushing per game over those four.
He threw two total interceptions in those four games.
Taylor certainly is a downgrade throwing the ball, even amongst Fields’ struggles as a passer. Having him at the helm makes the Buccaneers an intriguing streaming defense that will likely load up the box to stop the rushing attack from RBs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen.
Taylor shouldn’t be used as a streaming QB while WR Garrett Wilson gets a slight downgrade for the week.
We will monitor Fields' status heading into Week 4, but it is possible that the concussion costs him multiple games. This is the first concussion of Fields' career.
