Second-year RB Bucky Irving rushed 25 times for 66 yards and snagged all 4 of his targets for an additional 33 yards in Tampa Bay's 29-27 Week 3 victory over the Jets. The 29 touches best the 28 Irving posted in Carolina in Week 13 of the 2024 season.

Irving's 29 touches resulted in 99 scrimmage yards but he failed to find the end zone. He out-touched Rachaad White 29-6.
In a departure from last year's two-back rotation, Irving has become Tampa's clear bell cow. He played 53 of Tampa's 72 snaps on Sunday, besting White by 33 snaps.
Through Tampa's 3 games, Irving is averaging 23.3 touches per game, which is a pace of 397 for a full 17-game season. We can't expect that kind of massive workload to continue, but Irving's dominance of the backfield playing time is an encouraging start for the undefeated Buccaneers.
As is his role in the passing game. Irving has caught all 14 targets thrown his way.
He's checking all the boxes of what we want to see in an RB1: Three-down usage, short-yardage work, and durability.
The next month will be a challenge for Irving and the Bucs, as they face the Eagles, Seahawks, 49ers, and Lions.
