Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell said after Sunday's win over the Bengals that QB Carson Wentz will start next weekend's game against the Steelers in Dublin. That's not a surprise after reports that QB J.J. McCarthy would miss 2-4 weeks with his high-ankle sprain.
What They're Saying
O'Connell on McCarthy: “He's responded well to the early part of the treatment, but for a young player, you know, I want to make sure that he's healthy."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Wentz didn't need to do much in a Week 3 game against the Bengals dominated by the defense. He played well enough, though, completing 14 of 20 passes (70%) for 173 yards (8.7 YPA), two TDs, and 0 INTs.
Most importantly, Wentz targeted WR Justin Jefferson on seven of his 20 passes (35%) for 75 yards and TE T.J. Hockenson six times for 49 yards and a score.
The Vikings will get WR Jordan Addison back from his suspension in Week 4. Wentz's Week 3 outing will make it easier to count on all three of Minnesota's top pass-catchers in fantasy lineups.
