Niners Edge Nick Bosa left Sunday's win over the Cardinals with a right knee injury, and there's reason to believe it could be serious. Bosa flashed a thumbs down toward someone in the stands as he limped to the locker room after leaving in the first quarter.
What They're Saying
HC Kyle Shanahan after the game: "They did [an ACL] test on the sideline. They usually say whether he definitely did [tear his ACL] or not, and they didn't say that. But we are concerned with that. And are keeping our fingers crossed."
LT Trent Williams: "Any time you lose a guy like Nick, if he doesn't come back and his status is unknown, it's a real buzzkill. ... So I'm just hoping and praying that we get some good news. It's cliche to say it's a next-man-up-league. When you lose a guy like that, you need three or four guys to come and fill those shoes."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We'll see about this one and probably get more info Monday. But it doesn't look good.
The injury did at least hit the opposite knee from the one in which Bosa tore his ACL back in 2020. That season marks the only time to date that Bosa missed more than three games.
If Bosa misses further time -- which seems likely even if this isn't a season-ender -- then San Francisco would have to rely on an iffy group of edge players.
First-round rookie Mykel Williams has joined Bosa as the leads so far. Bryce Huff, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Sam Okuayinonu follow them.
