The Browns lost WR Cedric Tillman to injury in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Lions. That helped WR Jerry Jeudy lead the team with nine targets for the game. He managed just 3 catches for 48 yards, trailing rookie WR Isaiah Bond in yardage and tying him for second on the team in receptions. Jeudy's day included a bad drop of an early fourth-quarter throw that would have at least picked up big yardage and potentially turned into a long TD. Detroit compounded the issue by returning the ensuing punt for a TD.
What They're Saying
Jeudy: "I gotta make that damn play, bruh. Every ball that come my way, I expect to make that play. When I don't make that play, that's frustrating. I don't like that."
Jeudy on the defense: "They've been doing their thing all season. I'm tired of leaning on the defense. It's time for us to make some damn plays."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Sunday marked Jeudy's third game with 8+ targets among the first four weeks. It also marked the third time in four games that he has dropped at least one pass.
Jeudy's catch rate now sits at a gross 43.3%. He entered Sunday sporting the second-worst receiving success rate of his career, according to Pro Football Reference, and matching his career low for receptions per game.
Both numbers got worse in the loss to the Lions.
Jeudy's fortunate the team around him isn't better, because that would likely knock down his target share. As it is, he extended his team lead in that category. And Tillman's hamstring injury could bolster that target share further if it costs Tillman more time.
Unfortunately for Jeudy, a Week 5 matchup with the Vikings finds a defense that entered Week 4 ranked second in pass DVOA.
So you'll want to sit Jeudy for that one in most cases. Matchups with Pittsburgh and Miami look friendlier on the other side. But Jeudy will need to play better to actually help fantasy lineups.
