Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy returned from his shoulder injury with a bang. He ended the game with a team-leading eight targets. His final stat line of 5-83 was a solid fantasy day, despite not finding the end zone. He also had two runs for 38 yards including a 35-yard scamper. He did all this while playing limited snaps. Worthy’s 43 snaps ranked well below Juju Smith-Schuster who led the Chiefs’ WRs with 57 snaps. But Worthy’s presence seemed to ignite a Chiefs’ passing game that was dormant. QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 270 yards and 4 TDsin the game.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Worthy appears ready for fantasy lineups, especially if his snap count increases over the next few weeks. He played only 64.2% of snaps with Mahomes in the victory.
The return of Worthy also moves Mahomes back into the must start tier. Mahomes had his best fantasy performance since Week 12 of last year. He also will have Rashee Rice back in just three more weeks.
This could be the start of the Chiefs’ passing offense becoming the juggernaut they are capable of.
Give Worthy a few more weeks to continue ramping up his snaps and getting acclimated. He can be a boom-or-bust flex play next week, but temper expectations. We won't see 100-yard performances every week.
