Giants RB Cam Skattebo rushed 25 times for 79 yards in Sunday’s upset win over the Chargers. The Giants held a lead throughout Sunday's game, helping sustain Skattebo’s hefty workload.
What They're Saying
Here's LT Andrew Thomas after the win (via NY Post):
“Tough, as usual,” Thomas said of the rookie. “That’s just how he is. He brings that juice to our offense.”
Said HC Brian Daboll:
“Well, I’d just say that the run game was important, control the game. We can do better at it, too. Again, that’s a tough defense, they’re 3-0 for a reason. They [the Chargers] were one of the better teams in the red zone for a reason, they showed that.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Devin Singletary was merely a breather back in this one. He mixed in for 7 carries and 28 yards, as Tyrone Tracy sat with a shoulder injury.
Skattebo saw featured usage at the goal line and received several shots inside the ten yard-line. The Chargers held him out of the end zone, although Skattebo added a successful two-point conversion on a run up the gut.
Meanwhile, Singletary didn’t garner any goal line touches. He ran only 7 routes – compared to 20 for the rookie – and didn’t snag any passes. Skattebo added 2 catches for 11 yards.
This backfield will remain Skattebo's for as long as Tracy is out. Even upon his return, it's quite possible Skattebo racks up 15-18+ touches most weeks.
Keep him in lineups for a Week 5 matchup with the Saints.
Waiver Wire Targets
Skattebo's rostered in 90% of Yahoo leagues; 89% of ESPN leagues. So, chances are, you won't find him available in your league.
However, if he is unclaimed, the Giant needs to be a priority add ahead of Week 5.
