Cowboys RB Miles Sanders left Sunday night's game with an ankle injury. HC Brian Schottenheimer said Monday, though, that Sanders will "have the chance to play" in Sunday's game against the Jets, according to Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News. Sanders left in the second quarter against the Packers, leaving the whole backfield to Javonte Williams. Williams handled 20 of 22 RB carries for 85 yards and a TD. He caught all three of his targets for 15 more.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
We'll have to watch Sanders' status this week. If he doesn't wind up being ready for Sunday's game, then rookie Jaydon Blue would likely get activated and see his first NFL action.
Blue could particularly help the receiving weakness in the Dallas backfield.
Of course, if Sanders is ready to play, we might just have to keep waiting for Blue's debut.
In the meantime, Williams remains a safe workload bet in an offense that looked much better in Week 4. He's an attractive play the next three weeks against the Jets, Panthers, and Commanders.
Trade Value Changes
We included Williams as a "sell" in last week's Trade Targets, and we're not changing that stance. But as I mentioned in that article, he's not a panic sell.
You don't need to unload Williams because he's about to tank. He's sellable because he should net a good return, and there's room for him to lose value the rest of the way.
If you don't find a good enough return, keep him.
Waiver Wire Targets
Blue makes sense as a pickup in deeper leagues this week, while we watch Sanders' injury situation play out. He's stashable where possible even with a healthy Sanders, who hasn't been a difference-making player in a while.
