Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot/ankle) had a boot on his left foot and was on crutches at Wednesday's practice, according to Fox Sports' Greg Auman. We're still waiting for more details on Irving's injury, but he's looking unlikely to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend. That'd leave the backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
When White missed Week 6 last year, Tucker exploded for 192 total yards and two TDs. He was out-snapped 64% to 38% by Irving, but both guys finished with 14 carries, and Tucker out-targeted Irving three to two.
We also saw Irving exit early in Week 14 last year. After Irving's last touch in that game, opportunities were:
- White: 11 carries, 1 target
- Tucker: 3 carries, 2 targets
So far this season, White has tallied 23 carries and nine targets on 89 snaps. Tucker has just one carry on three snaps.
Tucker is certainly worth stashing in most fantasy leagues, with Irving potentially missing more than just one game. But Tucker would be a risky Week 5 fantasy play.
White is a good bet to lead this backfield vs. Seattle. It's a tough matchup against the 12th-ranked defense in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs, but White looks like a strong RB2 play based on projected rushing and pass-catching volume.
We'll look for more info on Irving's injury and Tampa Bay's backfield plans.
