In their first game since losing WR Malik Nabers for the season with a torn ACL, the Giants debuted a new TE-heavy scheme with mixed results. New York outproduced New Orleans on offense, but ultimately came up short, giving the Saints their first victory of the season. The Giants had 335 yards of offense, but turned the ball over 5 times in their 26-14 defeat at the Superdome.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Brian Daboll favored using 12 personnel (two TEs) in him team's first game without Nabers. TE Theo Johnson led the way, playing 60-of-73 snaps (82%), tying for the team lead with 7 targets, and scored 2 TDs. Johnson ran 35 routes, which was the second-most on the team.
Daniel Bellinger saw the biggest boost in playing time, playing 38 snaps, catching 4 passes, and leading the team with 52 receiving yards. Chris Manhertz also got in on the action, playing 8 snaps but failing to register a target.
The increased playing time and targets were very encouraging for Johnson, who remains a solid streaming option. We need to see more out of Bellinger before he becomes fantasy-relevant.
Other Winners & Losers
QB Jaxson Dart had an up-and-down day. Dart threw for 203 yards and 2 TDs and also chipped in 55 rushing yards on 7 carries. However, he turned the ball over 3 times, including a pair of fourth-quarter INTs that opened the door for the Saints to come back and secure the win.
RB Cam Skattebo also lost a fumble and didn't find much running room. Skattebo was held to 59 rushing yards on 17 totes (3.9 yards per carry). He supplemented that with a solid 6/45/0 showing through the air. The main takeaway for Skattebo is that the volume remained strong, keeping him in the weekly high-end RB2 conversation.
WR Wan'Dale Robinson led the receiving corps in snaps (69), routes (44), and targets (7). He remains the best bet in the group, but in two games with Dart as the starter, Robinson has only accumulated 44 total receiving yards.
WR Darius Slayton had a poor showing. Slayton was expected to step up without Nabers, but was held to 3 catches and 31 yards. Slayton dropped what would have been a 50-plus yard gainer and later fumbled. Additionally, Slayton injured his hamstring on the play and didn't return.
If Slayton misses time, Jaylin Hyatt would be the biggest benefactor. Hyatt played in two-wide sets after Slayton's departure, drawing 3 targets in 34 snaps.
Undrafted rookie Beaux Collins also logged 28 snaps, running 21 routes and commanding 3 targets.
