Texans QB C.J. Stroud dominated the Ravens' injured defense, completing 23 of 27 passes for 244 yards and 4 TDs. Stroud also had a 30 yard run which provided another nice boost to his fantasy total. WR Nico Collins went 4-52-1 while Xavier Hutchinson caught two TDs.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Stroud hasn’t done much to get excited about this season with no weekly finishes above QB15 until Sunday. With Monday Night Football pending, Stroud currently sits as QB1 overall for Week 5.
The Texans' atrocious O-Line hasn’t helped, but Stroud certainly has looked like a shell of his rookie self last season and so far this year. This performance gives some hope that Stroud can be a fantasy starter when the match-up dictates a pass-heavy performance.
He distributed the ball pretty evenly with eight different Texans getting a catch (and none of them were RBs).
It will still be difficult to trust Stroud going forward due to the O-line and his lack of rushing upside. But he can be stashed in deeper leagues in case of a strong match-up in the future.
Other Winners & Losers
The Ravens defense might be the bigger story. This is the second straight game giving up at least 4 passing TDs. They also have given up at least 322 yards from every offense they have faced (including the Cleveland Browns). With their injuries, the Ravens continue to be a defense to target as well, especially from the QB and WR positions.
