Alex Highsmith Trending Toward Week 6 Return

Steelers Edge Alex Highsmith says he hopes to be ready to play Sunday against the Browns. Highsmith has been out with a high ankle sprain since Week 2 but plans to ramp up his practice participation this week.

Mike DeFabo, Steelers beat writer for The Athletic: "Alex Highsmith ... said [Monday] he did some individual drills. His hope is to work into some team drills Wednesday and Thursday."

Highsmith (via DeFabo): "By Friday, mostly a full go, and then get ready for Sunday. I felt like I had a good day today. So just got to continue to progress throughout this week to be able to get out there on Sunday."

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Highsmith clearly isn't a lock to play in Week 6, and "mostly a full go" by Friday says we shouldn't expect full Highsmith this week even if he's active.

We'll watch for further details as the week plays out. But Highsmith could be playable in some IDP lineups even at less than 100%. He'd get an upside matchup against the Browns, who lost LT Dawand Jones to IR.

If Highsmith can't go, then Nick Herbig would replace him again in a nice spot.
