Jaguars TE Brenton Strange injured his hip last night in the second quarter and did not return to the game. The Jaguars announced that Strange will be placed on Injured Reserve, keeping him out for at least four games. TEs Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt both took snaps last night, replacing Strange.
What They're Saying
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network: “The Jaguars placed TE Brenton Strange on injured reserve. He's out at least four games.”
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Strange was coming off two six-catch games heading into Monday Night Football. He caught an early pass for 22 yards before being knocked out of the game.
Strange did not return to the game and now will miss four games, being placed on IR.
Other Winners & Losers
Long ran 22 routes on the night while Mundt ran only 5. Both saw one target in the game.
Long is more of the pass catching TE while Mundt’s main role this season has been in-line blocking. Expect Long to get more of Strange’s work.
He should likely be left on the waiver wire until we have a better idea of usage though.
Strange should be stashed in your IR slot if you can as it appears he should be back this season.
The other option for the Jaguars would be to unleash WR Travis Hunter more consistently on offense, specifically from the slot. Hunter ran 26 routes Monday Night, only two more than Dyami Brown.
Hunter did have his best game of the season catching all three of his targets for 64 yards including an amazing 44-yard catch in double coverage.
