Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was the focal point of the offense in Thursday night's loss to the Giants. He led the team with 11 targets, nine catches, and 110 yards. And he scored the only receiving TD of the night, taking an underhand pass from QB Jalen Hurts and following a convoy of blockers into the end zone from three yards out.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Goedert is having an awesome fantasy season, despite all of Philadelphia's struggles on offense. His 6.6 targets and 4.8 catches per game are both career highs. And he's playing a huge role near the goal line.
Goedert's TD vs. the Giants gives him five scores in five games. He's already matched his career high there. And four of those TDs have come from the five-yard line or closer. Goedert has been a focal point in that area of the field, drawing four of the team's seven first-read targets from inside the 10-yard line, according to Fantasy Points Data.
Week-to-week target volume remains a potential problem for Goedert in a low-volume passing game alongside WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. But Goedert is playing an expanded role in OC Kevin Patullo's offense so far. And, while the TD production will slow down, his usage in scoring territory has been very encouraging.
Goedert has earned weekly-starter status going forward.
