In a surprising move, Jonathan Gannon announced before Arizona's Week 6 game in Indianapolis that Zonovan Knight, who was listed as third on the depth chart and was just activated from the practice squad in Week 5, would draw the backfield start for the Cardinals. The move paid off, as Knight led the team in rushing and scored a 1-yard TD in the first quarter in Arizona's 31-27 loss.

The Cardinals, led by backup QB Jacoby Brissett, gave the Colts all they could handle. But it was Brissett and the passing attack that had more to do with that outcome.
Arizona rushed for just 88 yards on 24 attempts. Knight started the game and played the most snaps, but he wasn't particularly effective.
• Bam Knight - 37 snaps, 12 touches, 54 yards, 1 TD
• Michael Carter - 32 snaps, 11 touches, 54 yards, 0 TD
• Emari Demercado - 3 snaps, 1 touch, 0 yards, 0 TD
Knight played 5 more snaps than Michael Carter and had one more touch, but both backs had 54 scrimmage yards. Carter was more effective in the passing game, running 22 routes compared to 13 for Knight. Carter caught 2 of his 5 targets for 30 yards, while Knight caught 1-of-2 targets for 20 yards.
Trey Benson is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, so expect more of this committee approach in a week-to-week basis.
Knight and Carter will both be on the RB4/flex radar next week in a tough matchup against the Packers.
