Jaguars WR+ Travis Hunter managed just 15 yards on 4 catches in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. But his seven targets ranked second on the team, and Hunter actually led the squad in pass routes for the first time all season.
Hunter's biggest contribution to Sunday's game was unfortunately negative. He lined up offside on a play late in the third quarter that produced a 54-yard TD catch for Brian Thomas Jr. Hunter's penalty nullified that TD, though Jacksonville wound up scoring later on that possession.
On the positive side, Hunter played a season-high 61 offensive snaps. He also ran a route on a team-high 86.3% of Jacksonville dropbacks. Here are the rates from his previous five outings:
Jacksonville trailed for most of this contest after going 4-1 through the first five games. So we'll have to see how much of that increase in offensive snaps was planned vs. reacting to game flow.
We also still need more production from the rookie before we can start him in our fantasy lineups in most cases.
Jacksonville gets a Week 7 Rams matchup with shootout potential, followed by a Week 8 bye that could motivate some reassessment of roles.
