QB Joe Flacco's arrival sure didn't hurt Bengals WR Tee Higgins in Sunday's loss to the Packers. Higgins tied his season high with eight targets and reached personal bests for the year so far in receptions (5) and receiving yards (62). Of course, it also didn't hurt that Cincinnati attempted a season-high 45 passes.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Here's how Higgins' market shares looked for the game:
- 20.0% of targets (17.8% of total pass attempts)
- 17.2% of receptions
- 28.3% of receiving yards
Cincinnati logged just 15 pass attempts and 22 total offensive plays in the first half. Higgins finished that portion of the game with just 1 catch for 14 yards. And Flacco finished the game with only 219 yards on 29-of-45 passing.
That's 7.6 yards per completion and 4.9 yards per attempt. Jake Browning has better numbers for the season in each category.
The Bengals did make Sunday's game competitive in the second half, though. We'll see if that signals better offensive performance going forward.
Ultimately, the week stands as a positive for Higgins, but the passing performance wasn't enough to actually be encouraging for upcoming games.
We'll see how Cincinnati fares in a more favorable Week 7 matchup with the Steelers. After that comes a stellar matchup with the Jets and another positive spot against the Bears (before a Week 10 bye).
