Bengals Edge Trey Hendrickson left in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Packers with a back injury. The team initially deemed him questionable to return before downgrading him to "out" in the third quarter.
Update: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Hendrickson is day-to-day "after a good results on the MRI" Monday.
We'll see what the team has to say about Hendrickson for Week 7. But the potential trade market around the veteran complicates the situation.
There have been trade rumors -- and public requests -- regarding the star pass rusher for multiple seasons now. That included a holdout and contract adjustment this summer.
Now Cincinnati's sitting 2-4 after four straight losses following the Joe Burrow injury, which only makes moving the contract-year veteran more sensible. We probably can't know whether that aspect factored into ruling Hendrickson out vs. Green Bay.
We'll see about this week. The quick turnaround to a Thursday night game against the Steelers obviously hurts Hendrickson's chances of being ready to play.
If he's ready, though, he'll be a must play for that matchup and a stellar spot against the Jets in Week 8.
