Dolphins RB De’Von Achane busted off a season-high 128 yards and 2 scores in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. He added 4 grabs for 22 yards.
The Chargers allowed Jacory Croskey-Merritt to post 14-111-2 in Week 5, and their struggles continued against Miami. Achane posted a huge 5.2 yards after contact per attempt and +3.0 rush yards over expected per attempt, per Next Gen Stats.
As usual, he rarely left the field. Achane played 89% of the snaps and 79% of the rushes. Jaylen Wright was a healthy scratch, while rookie Ollie Gordon mixed in for only two attempts (one target).
Achane’s scores came from 49 and 4 yards out. He wasn’t touched on the long run, as Miami’s O-line did its job, and Achane’s speed took over from there.
Despite the turmoil with the 1-5 Dolphins, there’s been no reason to expect a dip in production from Achane. He’s now hit 16+ PPR points in all six games.
He’ll remain an RB1 for Sunday’s road matchup with Cleveland.
