Bears RB D'Andre Swift racked up 108 yards on 14 carries in Monday night's win over the Commanders. Washington's defense entered the night fifth-best in rush DVOA and adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs, which made Swift's 7.7 yards per carry especially notable. Rookie Kyle Monangai followed with a 5-19 rushing line, while Roschon Johnson claimed the other RB carry (for 6 yards). QB Caleb Williams produced the team's only rushing score, from a yard out. Swift added a 55-yard receiving TD to drive a 2-67-1 receiving line on three targets.
What They're Saying
HC Ben Johnson on Swift: "This is the best, most efficient we've run the ball all year. He played a physical style. The catch, the 55-yard touchdown was a game changer for us. ... It's who I really thought he was gonna be going into the season."
Johnson on the blocking: "It wasn't only Swift. Felt good about how our guys up front were blocking. I thought that was the cleanest they've played as a whole up front, tight ends included. Our receivers were blocking really well."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
This was easily Swift's best fantasy outing so far this year, topping his previous high PPR score by 9.5 points. It also marked just the second time this season that Swift has managed more than 3.1 yards per carry in a game.
Johnson had indicated before the bye that the run-game issues centered on more than just Swift's running. We'll see whether Week 6 ushered in a turnaround for the blocking and Chicago's rushing on whole or merely stands as a single strong performance.
The unit might not face a big test for a while. Week 7 holds a home date with the Saints, who sit 11th in run defense DVOA and just 28th overall. The next top-10 run defense by current numbers doesn't come until a Week 15 meeting with the Browns.
Our adjusted fantasy points allowed say the Bears' RB schedule looks pretty good until Week 14, when the Bears go Packers, Browns, Packers in consecutive games.
