The Colts have ruled CB Charvarius Ward out for Sunday's game against the Chargers with a concussion. That removes Indy's top corner for a matchup with a loaded set of receivers (assuming Quentin Johnston's ready to go). On the positive side, Colts CB Kenny Moore carries no game designation. That means he's ready to return after missing the past three games with an Achilles' injury.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Moore works almost exclusively in the slot. That's where Chargers WR Ladd McConkey has spent 63% of his pass snaps this season, according to Pro Football Focus, and WR Keenan Allen has spent 43% of his. Even rookie TE Oronde Gadsden II has run 50% of his pass snaps from the slot.
You get it: That's a pretty busy area for the Chargers' pass offense.
It's obviously tough to know just how close Moore will be to full strength after the three missed games. But he spoke previously about making sure he didn't return from the injury too early.
Johnston -- who returned to a full practice Thursday -- has run 84% of his pass snaps from the outside. So he should benefit most from Ward's absence and carries plenty of upside into this matchup.
You'll find all three Chargers wideouts inside the top 24 of our Week 7 WR rankings.
The Colts' D, on the other hand, would make for a high-risk play -- especially after allowing 400 yards to the Jacoby Brissett-led Cardinals last week.
Moore has jumped up our Week 7 DB rankings now that we know he's playing for this matchup that has supplied the third-most DB fantasy points per game this season.
