Philadelphia's pass offense delivered it's best output of the season in Sunday's win over the Vikings, but it didn't invite Saquon Barkley to the party. The star RB managed just 44 yards on 18 carries (2.4 per rush) and lost 2 yards while catching his only target.
What They're Saying
Geoff Mosher of PhillyVoice: "Against a light Vikings defensive front that is in the bottom half of many rushing defense categories, the Eagles once again couldn't get their ground game going. The offensive line injuries and penalties surely contributed, but they should still have had enough to find some good lanes against Minnesota. But they didn't."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Barkley's weekly rushing lines are embarrassing for the Philly offense:
- 18-60-1
- 22-88-1
- 18-46
- 19-43-1
- 6-30
- 12-58
- 18-44
And there's no fix in sight. Barkley has managed 4.0 yards per carry or better in just three of seven games, with just two of those exceeding 4.0.
Minnesota entered Sunday's game ranked just 23rd in rush DVOA and allowed these two rushing lines in their past two games:
- 23-110 to Cleveland's Quinshon Judkins
- 19-99-2 to Pittsburgh's Kenneth Gainwell
Philly gets a positive matchup with the Giants in Week 8, and Barkley did, at least, average 4.8 yards per rush in the Week 6 loss at their place.
After that comes a (needed) Week 9 bye and then tougher rushing matchups with the Packers and Lions.
Barkley remains not a buy.
Dynasty Impact
Here's where Barkley might actually be a buy.
His current struggles might seem to a dynasty holder like evidence that Barkley's already declining. But it's much more of an issue with Philly's blocking and overall offense than with the RB himself.
Barkley turns 29 in February, but he's signed through 2028. And we've some high-level, well-worn RBs produce beyond the position's traditional cliff. (Think: Derrick Henry and James Conner.)
Especially if Barkley resides on what should be a rebuilding roster in your dynasty league, he might be worth a look on the trade desk.
