Chargers WR Quentin Johnston managed just 2 catches for 30 yards in Sunday's loss to the Colts. That might make him seem a little left out from a game that included a career-high 420 passing yards from QB Justin Herbert. But Johnston got right back to his normal role after missing week 6 with a hamstring injury.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Johnston trailed WR Ladd McConkey by just one route for the team lead, running a route on 92% of Herbert's 61 dropbacks.
Johnston drew just six targets among 54 targeted attempts, a mere 11% share. But he did grab one of Herbert's three TDs.
The game marked a season low for Johnston in receptions and yards. He has scored in four of six contests.
McConkey drew a team-high 15 targets, catching nine for 67 yards. WR Keenan Allen followed with 14 targets, snagging a team-high 11 catches for 119 yards and a TD.
Rookie TE Oronde Gadsden II also beat Johnston in targets.
Although it would have been nice to get bigger numbers from Johnston, his full return after a practice week that included just one full workout is a positive.
Next comes the Vikings, the worst remaining WR-scoring matchup on the Chargers' schedule, according to our adjusted fantasy points allowed. Minnesota allowed both DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown to go over 100 yards in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, though.
After that comes a non-scary visit to Tennessee and positive scoring matchups with the Steelers and Jaguars.
