Commanders TE Zach Ertz recorded his fourth TD of the season in Sunday's blowout loss at Dallas. He added 3 catches for 37 yards on a team-high 7 targets.
Ertz’s usage was strong here; he tallied an 80% route rate and drew a team-high 25% target share.
But the big storyline to watch is the health of Jayden Daniels, who left Week 7 with a hamstring injury. There’s certainly potential for him to miss Week 8 at Kansas City.
In two full games with backup QB Marcus Mariota, Ertz tallied lines of 3-38 and 2-21. His target share over that stretch: a decent 17%.
We’ll also see about the health of Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel going forward, as both guys missed Week 7. If either guy sits out the Chiefs game, it’ll only strengthen Ertz’s case as a TE1 streamer.
