Giants RB Cam Skattebo racked up 94 total yards in Sunday’s close loss to Denver. He added his first career receiving TD on a designed screen.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The Giants shockly led 19-0 in the third quarter. That helped Skattebo rack up 16 carries, his third-highest total of the season.
Notably, the rookie’s carry share dipped from 61% in Week 6 – Tyrone Tracy’s first game back from injury – to 50% on Sunday. Skattebo’s route rate stabalized at 50%.
Skattebo’s power remained the headliner here, but he also overcame some iffy blocking. Per Next Gen Stats, his true yards per carry (3.8) far surpassed his expected YPC (3.0). He also finished 11th among 33 qualifiers in rush yards over expected per attempt.
The rapid development of Jaxson Dart only helps the case for Skattebo as a potential top-10 RB going forward. Dart threw for 283 yards and 3 TDs on only 15 completions. He added a 1-yard rushing score on a designed attempt.
Now, Dart threw a late-game pick that helped Denver hang around and eventually complete the comeback. But it’s an understandable hiccup for an inexperienced rookie to make in only his second road start.
Overall, Dart's been a huge net positive for a Giants squad that should have beat the Broncos.
What's Next for Cam Skattebo?
Skattebo and the Giants travel to Philly for a Week 8 rematch with the Eagles. In their Week 6 Thursday nighter, Skattebo compiled 19 carries for 98 yards and 3 TDs. He'll remain a clear fantasy starter for that one.
