After a sophomore season short on downfield targets, Bills TE Dalton Kincaid appears to be in line for more vertical looks in year three, according to Bills Digest’s Alex Brasky. It could be just what Kincaid needs to rebound after a disappointing 2024.
Brasky: “Kincaid has been a top target of [Allen’s] throughout offseason and training camp. This connection is set to flourish this season. Downfield game was missing last year, not missing to begin camp.”

Watching Kincaid showcase his field-stretching abilities at Utah only makes it more perplexing that he’s been used so close to the line of scrimmage in the NFL.
In 2024, he averaged just 4.0 yards before the catch per reception, tied for the fourth-lowest mark among TEs. His 7.5-yard average target depth was below league average, while his 6.0 yards per target ranked 35th.
What’s even more telling: 49 of his 75 targets from last season were under 10 air yards, a clear reason why he failed to even reach 60 receiving yards in any game.
With Buffalo spreading the ball around on offense, pass-catchers will have to make the most of each opportunity. Kincaid seeing a potential uptick in high-upside targets would be a very interesting development.
