Dallas Goedert Leads Infuriating Target Distribution

The "infuriating" part of Thursday night's target distribution is clear to anyone who started A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith.

Brown drew just one target for the game, securing an 8-yard catch on the Eagles' final possession of the night. Smith didn't do much better, tallying 16 yards on 3 receptions (off three targets).

But chalk it up to "that's how it goes sometimes."

Smith (55 snaps, 33 routes) and Brown (54 and 33) still served as the clear playing-time leaders at the position for a team that attempted only 23 passes.

The offense actually called runs on just 46.8% off offensive plays. But QB Jalen Hurts turned another nine of his 34 dropbacks into rushes.

If you have Brown or Smith, don't panic. If you have Goedert, rejoice in his usage ... and make sure you don't expect Week 1 to serve as a model for the rest of his season. (Those targets will fluctuate.)
