Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty delivered a nice fantasy line in Sunday's narrow loss to the Jaguars. A 5-47-1 receiving line delivered nearly all of that value and masked continued struggles in the Vegas run game. Jeanty ranked second on the team in catches and receiving yards for the game, earning a decent 13.2% target share. Jeanty also rushed 13 times for a mere 42 yards, despite the game remaining close throughout and no other Raiders RB garnering a single carry.

Jeanty made a nice play to run through a (lackluster) tackle attempt by Jaguars S Antonio Johnson on the short catch he turned into a 15-yard, fourth-quarter TD. And the rookie ranks third league wide in forced missed tackles for the season.
But part of his total there is volume. He's facing a lot of hits early in runs. Jeanty's averaging just 1.5 yards before contact per carry, according to Pro Football Reference. That ranks 62nd among RBs with 20+ carries this season. And it's the biggest reason Jeanty has averaged just 3.9 yards per rush.
That rate's been even worse over the past three games (3.3).
To be fair, the matchups in that span included a Chiefs D that ranks 10th in rush DVOA, and a Jaguars D that sits seventh. But the Raiders came out of the Week 8 bye to call runs on just 28% of the plays Sunday against Jacksonville.
That game found the Raiders scoring first, hitting halftime with a 6-3 lead, and not trailing by more than 4 points until the Jags scored with 3:24 left in OT.
Jeanty started well, gaining 38 yards on seven first-half carries (5.4 per rush). But the Raiders ran him just six more times, for 4 yards. for the game, he logged one fewer carry than he got in the 40-6 Week 5 loss at Indy.
Jeanty has finished six of eight games short of 4.0 yards per carry. And he ranks just 34th among 46 qualifiers in Next Gen Stats' rush yards over expected per carry (at minus-0.07).
The receiving production against Jacksonville was cool. But it also marked just the second time in eight games that he caught more than three passes. Jeanty has finished five games with 2 receptions or fewer.
Jeanty does get a positive schedule for RB scoring the rest of the way, with the best spots against Dallas in Week 11 and the Giants in Week 17.
But don't overrate his outlook. Jeanty's situation is more likely to limit him than help. That doesn't make him a guy you must sell, but such a move is certainly worth considering if you get a good chance to upgrade.
