Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was placed on Injured Reserve with his mid-foot sprain. Murray appeared close to returning last week, but was inactive in Week 9. QB Jacoby Brissett was announced as the starter for Week 10, but he steps in for the next four games as the Cardinals starting QB.
What They're Saying
HC Jonathan Gannon: "He needs to get healthy."
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport: The Arizona Cardinals are placing QB Kyler Murray on Injured Reserve because of his mid-foot sprain, giving him more time to heal. It’s Jacoby Brissett moving forward.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The Cardinals offense has performed well with Brissett, and he is paying dividends as a fantasy QB. He has been a top-12 in all three games he has started this season.
Brissett can support the Cardinals’ weapons as well. TE Trey McBride has been a top-6 PPR TE in each game Brissett started, only reaching that mark in two of five games with Kyler Murray.
Marvin Harrison Jr. had his best fantasy performance of the season last week finishing as PPR WR6 (though facing the Cowboys defense won’t hurt).
Murray might be back for the fantasy playoffs, but two negative match-ups against the Texans and Falcons in Weeks 15 and 16 make him cuttable in most redraft leagues.
Overall, this is a positive for the Cardinals fantasy future. If Brissett continues playing well, Murray could be shut down for the season to remain overly cautious.
