Bears RB D'Andre Swift registered 90 yards on a season-high 21 carries in Sunday's win over the Vikings. Chicago leaned heavily on the run, logging 39 rushing attempts vs. just 32 passes (and two sacks). Just four of those 39 rushes came from the QB. Swift continued to lead rookie RB Kyle Monangai in work -- 21 carries to 12 -- but he ceded the lone TD to Monangai in worrisome fashion. And that wasn't even the only worrying factor.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Let's start with the TD. That Chicago drive started early in the second quarter, with Swift in the backfield. The veteran carried six times, getting the team down to a third-and-4 from the Minnesota 7-yard line.
Monangai then came in for a 6-yard conversion run and the ensuing 1-yard TD plunge.
We don't yet have a trend of Monangai replacing Swift near the goal line. But this marks the second straight game in which the rookie scored from inside the 10-yard line and Swift didn't.
Each player got a carry in that range last week against the Giants. Swift picked up just 1 yard on a second down from the 5. Monangai scored on a first-and-goal from the 8.
For the game, Swift led Monangai 9-4 in first-half carries, 12-8 after the break.
This other detail could be even more worrisome, though. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Swift ran just one more pass route than Monangai (10-9). Each guy drew one target for the game.
That's especially worrisome because receiving seemed like the edge Swift wouldn't lose to the rookie. Swift entered the week with a 32-15 lead in targets, and Monangai never even topped 14 receptions in a college season.
One game certainly doesn't change that. But it'll be something to watch going forward.
Week 12 pits Chicago against a Steelers D that has showed signs of toughening lately. That includes holding the Bengals to 12 points and less than 300 yards Sunday.
Trade Value Changes
Sunday might have damaged the selling price on Swift, but I'd still recommend seeing if you can move him this week. We highlighted the Bears veteran among our Week 11 Trade Targets, in part because of the Monangai concerns.
