NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has "only an outside chance to play" against the Falcons in Week 5 because of the ankle he sprained in Baltimore's Week 4 victory.
What They're Saying
Rapoport: "Jackson could end up missing multiple games based on how rehab goes, but the injury is not considered long-term or surgical."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Shorter Passes Challenge WR Production
Tyler Huntley will start for however long Jackson remains out, and it looks like we should plan for that to at least be the case in Week 5.
Huntley gave us a reminder of his limitations in relief duty Sunday against the Titans:
| Player | Comp | Att | Comp% | YPA |
| Jackson | 15 | 20 | 75.0% | 11.1 |
| Huntley | 8 | 9 | 88.9% | 7.0 |
That's a pretty good outing for a backup QB, but the 4.1-yard dip in yards per attempt despite 89% completions highlights the shortness of Huntley's game. Pro Football Focus credited him with a 0.3-yard average depth of target for that game.
We certainly shouldn't expect the passes to stay quite so short when Huntley starts, but it will be different from the Jackson pass offense. Jackson posted a 9.7-yard aDOT last year vs. Huntley's 6.2. The career rates sit a little closer:
- Jackson 9.4
- Huntley 7.6
So far this season, though, Jackson's working on a career-long 10.8-yard aDOT. The Huntley dip figures to impact WR Zay Flowers most, though we should be able to count on a strong target share to help counter that.
Falcons DST Available for Streaming
The Falcons' defense becomes a streaming option for Week 5 if Huntley starts in place of Jackson.
It's not a lock to deliver, because Huntley hasn't proved significantly more susceptible to sacks than Jackson over their respective careers, and his 1.8% INT rate actually checks in slightly under Jackson's 1.9%. But the Ravens obviously become a much worse scoring bet with the QB swtich.
Baltimore visits Cleveland in Week 6. We'll see about Jackson's status for that one.
