A.J. Dillon Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is listed as "did not practice" with a knee issue on Monday's injury report. The team didn't actually practice just a day after their loss to Denver. Barkley recorded a season-low 6 carries on a season-low 72% snap rate in that one, and the knee could have been a factor. Of course, we're also talking about a veteran RB on a short week, so this could turn out to be nothing at all. We'll update Barkley's status again on Tuesday. His absence vs. the Giants on Thursday night would likely leave RBs Will Shipley and A.J. Dillon working in a timeshare.

Update: Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Barkley had "general soreness" coming out of the Broncos game and "fully expects" to play on Thursday night.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley heads into Monday night with the 10th-best PPR score at the position for Week 5. But his production against the Broncos carried positive and negative. Barkley caught three passes for 47 yards and a TD but added just six carries for 30 yards. That marked his fewest carries and yards for a healthy game since 2022 with the Giants.

Eagles RB Will Shipley (oblique) is out for this weekend’s game vs. the Rams. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, which should have him on track for a Week 4 return. A.J. Dillon operated as Philadelphia’s No. 2 RB last week. RB Tank Bigsby did not play on offense.

Eagles RB Will Shipley (oblique) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. It gives him a shot to make it back for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. Shipley, of course, is not a fantasy option as long as RB Saquon Barkley is healthy. But we're curious to see how the depth chart shakes out behind Barkley between Shipley, Tank Bigsby, and A.J. Dillon.

Eagles RB Will Shipley (oblique) is out for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. That’ll leave A.J. Dillon and the recently acquired Tank Bigsby behind Saquon Barkley. We don’t have a timetable for Shipley’s return.

The Jaguars are trading RB Tank Bigsby to the Eagles. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Philly's sending fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2026 draft to Jacksonville.

Let's start with the positive: You got 84 total yards and a TD if you started Eagles RB Saquon Barkley in Thursday night's win over the Cowboys. Barkley rushed 18 times, vs. six combined carries for the team's other two RBs. His five targets and 4 receptions each ranked second on the team. But Barkley struggled on the yardage front. He managed just 3.3 yards per rush and 6.0 yards per reception.

Eagles RB Will Shipley suffered a rib injury in the first half of Thursday night's opener vs. the Cowboys. He was officially deemed "questionable" to return but never did. The second-year back got involved early, with two carries for 25 yards on Philadelphia's opening possession. He carried once more on the second possession before getting hurt. A.J. Dillon operated as the Eagles' No. 2 RB the rest of the way. We'll update Shipley's status when we learn more.

The Eagles signed RB A.J. Dillon to a one-year deal. Dillon missed the entire 2024 season after a neck injury that dated back to 2023. He was medically cleared last week, though, and will now battle for a role behind Saquon Barkley in Philadelphia.

The Packers have placed RB A.J. Dillon on IR. He was not designated to return, meaning his 2024 season is over. This is presumably related to the stinger that had Dillon sidelined recently.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Saturday that RBs MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) and A.J. Dillon (stinger) are "TBD" for Week 1.

Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd exited Saturday's preseason game with a hamstring injury. It is considered "not serious" and he should be ready for the season, according to insider Jordan Schultz.

Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd left Saturday’s preseason game with a hamstring injury. Lloyd carried once for 8 yards before departing.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur reportedly talked up RB A.J. Dillon at the start of training camp. According to Zach Kruse of Packers Wire, the coach said: "This is THE best I've seen him. Hands down. And I think he'd tell you the same." Dillon returned to Green Bay on a minimal one-year deal and heads toward the season as likely the No. 3 RB on the Packers' depth chart.

The Packers gave RB Josh Jacobs a big four-year, $48 million deal in free agency. But HC Matt LaFleur suggested on Wednesday that the team might stick with a RB-by-committee approach this season.

The Packers re-signed RB A.J. Dillon to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Dillon didn't seem to garner much interest on the open market after averaging a career-low 3.4 yards per carry last year. He'll return to Green Bay as a clear backup behind RB Josh Jacobs, who inked a four-year, $48 million deal earlier this week.
