The Jets will place RB Braelon Allen (knee) on IR today, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini. Allen's knee injury is still being evaluated, per Cimini, and surgery remains on the table. "Too early to say if it's season-ending, though this appears to be more than just a 4-week return," Cimini adds.

Update: Allen is expected to miss 8-12 weeks, HC Aaron Glenn said Friday. That puts Allen out through at least Week 12. He can be dropped in all redraft leagues.

"Allen is expected to receive additional opinions," Rapoport adds. We'll see if those additional opinions bring any better news, but expect Allen to miss multiple weeks. That'll leave the Jets backfield to Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis. Davis should pick up extra work with Allen out but will still fall short of reliable fantasy value. He's worth stashing in deeper fantasy leagues, though, as he's now just one injury away from a lead job. Hall becomes a borderline RB1 with Allen sidelined.
