Bucky Irving Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) has been ruled out for Monday night's game vs. the Lions, as expected. HC Todd Bowles essentially ruled Irving out back on Monday, so we're not optimistic about his chances of making it back for Week 8's game against the Saints. The Bucs then get a Week 9 bye. Rachaad White gets another game as lead back on Monday night. He's averaged 15.5 carries and 3.5 targets over the last two games, turning in RB7 and RB10 PPR finishes.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles has already said RB Bucky Irving and WR Chris Godwin are "not in play" for a Monday night clash with the Lions in Week 7. the team does, however, hope to get WR Mike Evans back at practice this week, according to other reports.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (shoulder, foot) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the 49ers. He remained sidelined in practice all week and “could miss 1-2 more weeks,” according to The Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud. Rachaad White gets another game as lead back this weekend, after tallying an 80% snap rate, 14 carries, and four targets last week.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (shoulder, foot) is expected to miss "at least two weeks," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter adds that Irving's shoulder injury is worse than the foot injury. Fantasy managers should plan on being without him at least in Week 6, and it sounds like Irving could miss more time beyond that. The Bucs have a Week 9 bye. We'll see what the backfield split looks like today between Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) did not practice all week and is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Friday morning that Irving could miss multiple games with the foot injury. His absence leaves Tampa Bay’s backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. We’re expecting White to be the lead on early downs and dominate passing-game work. He gets a Seattle defense that’s been tough against the run but has allowed the most catches and receiving yards to RBs.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot) is expected to miss Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks and "is in danger" of missing Week 6, too, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. We still don't have many details on Irving's injury, but he was on crutches and in a walking boot on Wednesday, so it's no surprise that this could be a multi-week deal. He's worth keeping stashed in all fantasy leagues, but plan on being without him for at least the next two weeks. Tampa Bay's bye is not until Week 9. We're expecting Rachaad White to operate as the Bucs' clear lead back this weekend, with RB Sean Tucker mixing in on early downs. See where both guys land in the Week 5 RB Rankings.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving is considered "week to week" with a foot sprain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The team doesn't believe it's a long-term injury, Schefter adds. Irving seems unlikely to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend, though, and could miss multiple games. Tampa Bay's bye isn't until Week 9. Here's our breakdown of what the Bucs backfield might look like without Irving.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot/ankle) had a boot on his left foot and was on crutches at Wednesday's practice, according to Fox Sports' Greg Auman. We're still waiting for more details on Irving's injury, but he's looking unlikely to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend. That'd leave the backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving's Week 5 status is uncertain due to a foot/ankle injury suffered in last week's loss to the Eagles, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Irving is still getting additional opinions on the injury and hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. "But he’s sore and his status is up in the air," Garafolo adds. We'll keep a close eye on this one throughout the week, but RBs Rachaad White and Sean Tucker need to be rostered in virtually all fantasy leagues. White would be the better fantasy bet if Irving misses time, but Tucker would also figure into the backfield on early downs. Remember that he exploded for 192 total yards and two TDs on 17 touches when White missed Week 6 last year.

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles said Monday that RB Bucky Irving is one of several players scheduled for an MRI. Bowles gave no other details about Irving's status. He appeared to tweak an ankle in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Eagles, but no injury was reported during or after the game. We'll update Irving's status when we know more, but RB Rachaad White and even RB Sean Tucker are worth rostering in the meantime.

If you played Bucky Irving in Week 4, then you probably enjoyed yourself. The Bucs' lead RB proved just OK on the ground, with a 15-63 rushing line in the loss to the Eagles. But he added a 5-102-1 receiving line that got pumped up by a 72-yard TD. Although that kind of play always involves plenty of luck, Tom Brady (Fox's color analyst for the game) explained right after the play that he used to tell his receivers to go deep when things start breaking down and he's forced to improvise. That Irving made such a move, got the ball from Baker Mayfield, and took it all the way highlights the RB's receiving value. But Sunday's game also marked the first time this year that Irving didn't dominate Rachaad White in receiving usage. Should we worry?

Second-year RB Bucky Irving rushed 25 times for 66 yards and snagged all 4 of his targets for an additional 33 yards in Tampa Bay's 29-27 Week 3 victory over the Jets. The 29 touches best the 28 Irving posted in Carolina in Week 13 of the 2024 season.

Bucs RB Bucky Irving handled 14 of 17 team RB carries in Sunday’s 23-20 win over Atlanta. Irving caught all 4 targets for 8 yards and 1 score.
