Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (fibula) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Lions. He didn't practice all week and seems unlikely to make it back for Week 8's game against the Saints. We'll see if Godwin is ready after Tampa Bay's Week 9 bye.
Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Thursday. We're tentatively expecting him back for Monday night's game against the Lions, but his status bears monitoring over the next couple of days. Hopefully we know Evans' status for this one before inactives are released 90 minutes before kickoff. WRs Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (fibula) did not practice on Thursday and are not expected to play vs. Detroit.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles has already said RB Bucky Irving and WR Chris Godwin are "not in play" for a Monday night clash with the Lions in Week 7. the team does, however, hope to get WR Mike Evans back at practice this week, according to other reports.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport expects WR Emeka Egbuka to "miss some time" with the hamstring injury he suffered in the Week 6 win over the 49ers. The rookie is scheduled for an MRI on Monday. "Does not seem like it's that serious," Rapoport adds. Consider Egbuka unlikely to play vs. the Lions this weekend. Tampa Bay then gets the Saints in Week 8 before a Week 9 bye, so it's possible that we don't see Egbuka again until Week 10. Rapoport adds that WR Mike Evans is "nearing a return" from his hamstring injury, while WR Chris Godwin is "week-to-week" with his fibula injury. We'll see if Evans can make it back for the Lions game. If not, the Bucs will be down to Tez Johnson, Kameron Johnson, and Sterling Shepard as their top three WRs.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is considered "week to week" with his fibula injury, according to The Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud. The injury is in a different area from the ankle injury that ended Godwin's 2024 season, per Stroud. There are no plans to place Godwin on IR, but it sounds like he might miss more than just one game. With WR Mike Evans (hamstring) also out for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers, WRs Sterling Shepard and Tez Johnson should pick up more snaps. Both guys would be desperation fantasy plays. This passing game should continue to run through WR Emeka Egbuka.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Tampa Bay WR Chris Godwin is not expected to play in Week 6. Godwin popped up on the injury report and did not practice this week with a fibula injury. He missed the first three games of the season recovering from a fractured ankle that also cost him half of the 2024 season.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin did not practice on Wednesday and is on the injury report with a fibula. It's unclear if this is related to the season-ending dislocated ankle Godwin suffered last October. We'll keep tabs on his status over the next few days, but Godwin won't be a recommended Week 6 fantasy start. He's posted identical 3-26-0 receiving lines in his first two outings of the season.
Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. Expected to miss 2-3 weeks, Evans should have a chance to return for Week 6’s meeting with the 49ers. We’ll track his progress next week. Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin, and Sterling Shepard will again operate as Tampa Bay’s top three WRs against Seattle.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin played Sunday for the first time since dislocating his left ankle last October. He collected just 3 receptions for 26 in yards in the loss to the Eagles. But Godwin drew 10 targets to tie rookie WR Emeka Egbuka for the team lead. Godwin played only slightly less than his previous norm, trailing Egbuka's team lead in routes by just one (41-40).
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. We haven’t heard anything about him being on a snap count today, but we’d be surprised if Godwin played a full slate of snaps in his 2025 debut. Try to keep him on fantasy benches this week.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Eagles tomorrow, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll look for details on the plan for Godwin, but we're expecting his snaps to be limited in his first game action in over 11 months.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Eagles. He got in full practices on Wednesday and Friday, sitting out on Thursday. Godwin is in line to make his 2025 debut in this one, but we expect him to be on a snap count. Try not to use Godwin in Week 4 fantasy lineups. WR Mike Evans (hamstring) has been ruled out, as expected.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That seemingly has him on track to make his 2025 debut vs. the Eagles this weekend, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported would likely be the case last weekend. Godwin will likely be on a snap count in his first action since last year's nasty ankle injury, so he's not a recommended Week 4 fantasy starter. But he could quickly become one, especially with WR Mike Evans expected to miss multiple weeks.
Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin (ankle) has a "strong chance" to make his 2025 debut against the Eagles in Week 4, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That'd be a little ahead of the "Week 5 or later" timeline we'd most recently heard for Godwin. He's been practicing on a limited basis for the last two weeks. Schefter also says there's a " strong chance" LT Tristan Wirfs makes it back for Week 4. That'd be as big a boost to this offense as Godwin's return (maybe bigger).
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin is expected to practice today for the first time since last year's ankle injury, which ended his season early and required a pair of surgeries. This lines up with the team's expectations heading into the season and is expected to return Godwin to game action for Week 5 or 6.
Bucs WR Emeka Egbuka didn’t look like a rookie in a Week 1 win over the Falcons. The Round 1 pick went off for 4 catches, 67 yards, and 2 TDs on an 18.7% target share.
