Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller delivered 3 catches, 27 yards, and 2 TDs in Monday's win over the Jets. Week 4 marked Waller’s 2025 debut.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is believed to have suffered a dislocated knee in Monday night's game vs. the Jets, according to multiple reports. He was transported from the stadium to the hospital to confirm that diagnosis and start getting treatment. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport notes that this injury "often comes with multiple ligament tears." Hill's 2025 season is over, and it's fair to wonder about his football career. He turns 32 in March.
Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill suffered a gruesome left knee injury in the third quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Jets. Trainers rushed to stabilize the knee in an air cast before Hill was carted off the field. This looks like a season-ending injury, but we'll update Hill's status when we know more. It's a huge loss for the Dolphins offense and will open up considerable target opportunity for WRs Jaylen Waddle, Malik Washington, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, TE Darren Waller, and RB De'Von Achane.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) was left off the final injury report, putting him on track to make his 2025 debut vs. the Jets on Monday night. Waller remained limited in practice all week, though, and is unlikely to play anything close to a full slate of snaps in this one. Waller should not be in Week 4 fantasy lineups.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) is out for Thursday night's game against the Bills. He got in limited practices this week, potentially setting him up to play Week 4. But Waller will have to show us something before we can even consider him as a fantasy option.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. He remained sidelined in practice all week, so consider him iffy for Week 3. Tanner Conner operated as Miami’s lead TE in the opener, running a route on 58% of pass plays and catching 2 of 4 targets for 20 yards. He’s not a viable fantasy play.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller had a setback with his hip injury before Thursday's practice and is "doubtful" to play vs. the Colts this weekend, HC Mike McDaniel said Friday. It's an inauspicious start for Waller, who came out of retirement to join the Fins in early July. He's not worth rostering outside of the deepest of fantasy leagues. Waller's absence in the opener will just mean more targets for WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and RB De'Von Achane. Julian Hill and Tanner Conner will handle TE duties for Miami.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details on his status, but hopefully you weren't considering using him in Week 1 fantasy lineups. Waller's absence vs. the Colts this weekend would just mean more targets for WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and RB De'Von Achane.
Dolphins TE Darren Waller has been activated from the PUP list, setting him up to make his practice debut with the team. Miami acquired Waller on July 1, but he's spent the first few weeks of training camp working back into shape after being out of football last year. We'll look for reports on the state of Waller's game and how he's fitting into the offense.
Giants TE Darren Waller retired after the 2023 season, but has returned after a trade to the Dolphins. After trading TE Jonnu Smith to the Steelers yesterday, the Dolphins left themselves a huge hole at the position. They potentially fill that with Waller, though he will compete with Pharaoh Brown and Julian Hill for snaps. Don't expect Waller to be anything more than a late round flier in fantasy drafts.
TE Darren Waller has told the Giants that he will retire, according to both NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Jordan Ranaan. This confirms the news we passed along a little less than a week ago. It sets up Daniel Bellinger as the likeliest season-opening starter at TE, with rookie Theo Johnson competing for time. Neither makes for an exciting 2024 fantasy football option, though you could take a shot on either low in TE3 range of your best ball draft.
ESPN's Jordan Ranaan reports that Giants TE Darren Waller is expected to announce next week whether he'll play this season -- and that "people in and around the team expect that he's going to retire." The team has a two-day mandatory minicamp starting on June 11. Waller's expected to deliver his decision ahead of that.
