Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Patriots have traded RB Pierre Strong to the Browns for OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr. Cleveland has spent August thin at RB behind Nick Chubb, with Jerome Ford out nursing a hamstring injury. ESPN's Jake Trotter projected Demetric Felton as the third RB behind Chubb and Ford before this move. The trade doesn't guarantee that Strong makes the regular-season roster. But he should be a good bet to do so. Given that Ford has just eight career NFL touches on offense, it's an upside landing spot for Strong. His departure from a Patriots roster he was expected to make leaves room for at least one among Kevin Harris, Ty Montgomery, and J.J. Taylor behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott.
Browns WR David Bell (thumb, toe) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Ravens. Demetric Felton figures to replace Bell as Cleveland’s primary slot receiver but is only in play as a flier in Saturday DFS tournaments.
Browns WR David Bell (thumb, toe) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Ravens. He didn't practice all week and won't play on Saturday, according to The Score's Jordan Schultz. Bell's absence will leave WRs Michael Woods and Demetric Felton behind Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones.
Browns RB Nick Chubb remains on the COVID list. RB John Kelly was removed from the list on Thursday morning, but Chubb and RB Demetric Felton were not. Chubb still has a few days to be cleared for Sunday's game vs. the Lions, but he's not a lock to be available for that one. D'Ernest Johnson would be a RB1 if Chubb remains out.
Browns RBs Nick Chubb, Demetric Felton and John Kelly will miss this weekend's game vs. the Patriots on the COVID list, HC Kevin Stefanski said Friday. We'd expect Chubb back for Week 11 but will continue to keep tabs on his status. It'll be D'Ernest Johnson and Brian Hill, who was signed earlier this week, in Cleveland's backfield on Sunday. Johnson should handle the vast majority of the RB touches against New England's middling run defense. Johnson, of course, ran for 146 yards and a score on 22 carries vs. the Broncos back in Week 7.
Browns RBs Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton tested positive for COVID, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Both guys are vaccinated, per Schefter, giving them a chance to be cleared in time for Sunday's game against the Patriots. We'll monitor the situation, but RB D'Ernest Johnson needs to be rostered in all fantasy leagues. He'd be a borderline RB1 if Chubb is out on Sunday.
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski ruled RB Nick Chubb (calf) out for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 8. Cleveland will roll with D'Ernest Johnson, Demetric Felton and John Kelly in the backfield vs. Denver.
According to multiple reports, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski says RB Kareem Hunt will miss at least 3 weeks with the calf injury he suffered in the loss to Arizona. "Hopefully not much longer than that, but we'll see," he said, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll see about Nick Chubb's status for Thursday night's game against Denver. He, of course, missed the Cardinals game with his own calf injury. If Chubb can't go, Cleveland will be down to D'Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton as backfield leaders. That would obviously mean touch-volume upside for both players. Just keep in mind that neither is likely to land in a workhorse role -- and that both are limited talents.
