Diontae Johnson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Panthers WRs Diontae Johnson (rib) and Adam Thielen (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. Johnson has been battling multiple injuries throughout the season. It's not the worst thing in the world that he's missing this game against stud CB Patrick Surtain with QB Bryce Young under center. We'll see if Johnson makes it back for Week 9. Thielen just returned to practice this week after coming off IR and isn't ready for game action yet. The Panthers will trot out Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Jonathan Mingo, and David Moore as their top four WRs this weekend. They'll struggle to score points.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (rib) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. His previous ankle and hamstring injuries are off this week's injury report, and Johnson played through this rib issue last week. We're still expecting him to suit up for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos, but check back tomorrow to see how he's listed on the final injury report

Panthers QB Bryce Young will start this weekend's game vs. the Broncos, HC Dave Canales announced on Wednesday. QB Andy Dalton sprained a thumb in a car accident earlier this week. He'll be evaluated "day to day," Canales said, and might be available as Young's backup on Sunday.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) has been designated to return from IR and will practice on Wednesday. He's been out since injuring his hamstring at the end of the first half of Week 3. Thielen was a full-time player before going down but totaled just 12 targets across his 2.5 games. We'll see how Carolina divvies up playing time between Thielen and rookie WR Xavier Legette behind lead WR Diontae Johnson, but Thielen won't be much of a fantasy option in this struggling passing game.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle, ribs, hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He's been playing through the ankle issue for the past two weeks but had the rib and hamstring added to Friday’s injury report. There’s elevated risk here, but Johnson would be tough to bench against Washington’s 23rd-ranked WR defense.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle, ribs, hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Commanders today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Johnson has been playing through the ankle issue for the past couple of weeks, but the ribs and hamstring were added to the injury report on Friday. He carries elevated risk in Week 7 fantasy lineups, but he'd be very difficult to bench in this matchup against Washington's 23rd-ranked WR defense.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle, ribs, hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders. He's been playing through the ankle issue for the past two weeks, but the rib and hamstring were added to the injury report on Friday. Johnson only got in a limited practice on Friday, which is the least amount of work he's gotten in a week this season. We'll look for further updates on his status. We won't get Carolina's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. He's been playing through this ankle injury for the past two weeks, but this is the first time he's missed consecutive practices. We'll see if he gets on the field on Friday and then how he's listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Johnson has been playing through this ankle issue for two weeks and should be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Commanders. But we'll keep an eye on him over the next few days.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, but we’re expecting Johnson to be ready for a full slate of snaps today. He remains a rock-solid WR2 play.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler confirms that Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Falcons on Sunday. Johnson was limited in practice all week and is officially questionable. But he played through this injury last week and never seemed to be in danger of missing this one. Johnson is safe to keep in Week 6 fantasy lineups.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. He was limited in practice all week. Johnson played through this ankle issue last week after putting in just two limited practices (although he was notably left off the final Week 5 injury report). We're fully expecting Johnson to play this weekend, but we'll look for further updates on his status.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) got in just two limited practices this week but is not on the final injury report. He's good to go for Sunday's game vs. the Bears. Johnson ranks third among WRs in PPR points over the last two weeks with QB Andy Dalton.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. HC Dave Canales said he fully expects Johnson to play vs. the Bears this weekend. We'll see what he does in Friday's practice and then how he's listed on the final injury report. Johnson can stay penciled into fantasy lineups for now.

Panthers WR Diontae Johnson (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He missed practice time with a groin issue last week and then rolled an ankle in the loss to the Bengals. Johnson returned to that game, so we're expecting him to be fine for Sunday's game vs. the Bears. But his status bears monitoring over the next few days.

With Panthers QB Andy Dalton under center, WR Diontae Johnson had another big game with seven receptions on 13 targets for 83 yards and a TD. He has new life this season and is putting together a WR1 campaign with Dalton at QB.
