Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Ravens WRs Rashod Bateman (foot) and Nelson Agholor (concussion) are listed as questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Steelers. Agholor did not practice all week and is a long shot to be cleared by Saturday. Bateman was added to the injury report on Wednesday and then did not practice on Thursday. He was spotted in a walking boot on Thursday morning. That might leave Baltimore without its No. 2 and 3 WRs this weekend. That'd likely mean target-share boosts for WR Zay Flowers and TEs Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.
Update: The Ravens later downgraded Agholor to out.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said Monday that the knee injury that knocked WR Rashod Bateman out of the Week 13 loss to the Eagles is not long term. It sounds like we'll see Bateman again this season, although it's unclear exactly when that will be. He at least gets a Week 14 bye to heal up. Aready a fringe fantasy asset, Bateman can be dropped in most redraft leagues. His injury should be an opportunity for WR Diontae Johnson to add playing time, but he played zero snaps vs. against the Eagles and has something going on behind the scenes. Harbaugh wouldn't even commit to Johnson still being on the team after the bye week when asked on Monday. Nelson Agholor figures to step in as Baltimore's No. 2 WR if Bateman isn't ready come Week 15 but isn't worth an add outside of very deep fantasy leagues.
The Ravens have signed WR Nelson Agholor to a one-year extension. Agholor finished fifth on the team in targets last season but tied Odell Beckham Jr. for third in receptions, trailing only Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews. Agholor finished just 71st among WRs in PPR scoring and cracked the top 36 just three times -- with a high of WR23 in Week 2. Don't expect him to be much of a 2024 fantasy factor. Though he could pop up for the occasional annoying week to get in the way of another Ravens pass catcher you're starting.
Ravens WR Zay Flowers (calf) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Steelers. He joins QB Lamar Jackson and WR Odell Beckham on the sidelines for this one. QB Tyler Huntley starts with WRs Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor, Laquon Treadwell, and Tylan Wallace.
Ravens WR Zay Flowers (calf) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Steelers. He played through this injury last week, so this is very likely a case of Flowers getting some rest in a meaningless finale. He should be ready for Baltimore's playoff opener in a couple of weeks. WR Odell Beckham (rest) has been ruled out for Week 18. The Ravens will trot out some combination of WRs Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor, Laquon Treadwell, and Tylan Wallace with QB Tyler Huntley.
Ravens WRs Odell Beckham (ankle) and Rashod Bateman (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. That leaves Nelson Agholor as Baltimore's No. 2 WR and Devin Duvernay as the No. 3. Expect a run-heavy attack from the Ravens, with WR Zay Flowers and TE Mark Andrews dominating targets.
Ravens WRs Odell Beckham (ankle) and Rashod Bateman (hamstring) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. They're both looking iffy for this weekend's game vs. the Browns. Their absences would leave Nelson Agholor as Baltimore's No. 2 WR. We'll see how Beckham and Bateman are listed on the final injury report tomorrow.
Ravens HC John Harbaugh says the ankle injury that knocked WR Odell Beckham Jr. out of Sunday's win over the Bengals is minor. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Beckham is "managing the issue" and that it's not expected to cost him game time going forward -- "if all goes well." We'll watch Beckham's status heading into a Week 3 home date with the Colts. WRs Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay each gained significant playing time Sunday vs. Week 1. Nelson Agholor went from 0 Week 1 targets to leading the Week 2 receiving production, but his playing time didn't grow with Beckham going down.
WR Nelson Agholor led the Ravens with 63 receiving yards in Sunday's win over the Bengals. His 5 catches tied TE Mark Andrews for the team lead and included a 17-yard TD. Agholor benefited from WR Odell Beckham Jr. leaving early with an ankle injury. WR Zay Flowers fell just 1 yard short of Agholor, with a 4-62 receiving line on 5 targets. WR Rashod Bateman drew just three looks, catching all three for 18 yards. We'll see about Beckham's status for a Week 3 home date with the Colts. Even if he's out, though, we wouldn't make Agholor a priority pickup on waivers this week.
Ravens WR Odell Beckham has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals with an ankle injury. We'll update his status when we know more. Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, and Nelson Agholor will operate as Baltimore's top three WRs the rest of the way.
The Ravens signed WR Nelson Agholor to a 1-year, $3.25 million deal. It's an uninspiring addition for a team that's made a habit of making uninspiring moves at WR. Agholor has yet to reach 900 yards across 8 NFL seasons and averaged just 26.9 receiving yards per game in New England over the past 2 years. He joins Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and James Proche in Baltimore's WR room for the time being. Hopefully the Ravens aren't done addressing the position.
Patriots QB Mac Jones went an ugly 13-of-31 passing (41.9%) for 112 yards in Sunday's loss to the Raiders, with no TDs or INTs. WRs Jakobi Meyers and Nelson Agholor tied for the target lead with 6 apiece but totaled just 3 receptions between them. This was Jones' 2nd straight game without a TD and 2nd among the past 3 with less than 200 yards. He's simply not a viable fantasy option at this stage.
Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Raiders. He went from a limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday to another limited practice on Friday. That’s a strange progression for a guy in the concussion protocol. Patriots-Raiders doesn’t kick off until 4:05 pm ET on Sunday, but we should get an update on Meyers by that morning. Patriots WR DeVante Parker (concussion) has been ruled out, leaving Nelson Agholor, Tyquan Thornton and Kendrick Bourne as New England’s top 3 healthy WRs.
Patriots QB Mac Jones racked up 382 yards on 28-of-39 passing in Thursday night's loss to the Vikings. He found WR Nelson Agholor and TE Hunter Henry for TDs. Jones nearly added a 3rd in the 3rd quarter, but Henry lost control of the ball as he went to the ground. Jones targeted RB Rhamondre Stevenson (10) and WR Nelson Agholor (8) most often. Agholor set a season high in targets and matched his top mark of the year in receptions. Jones beat his career high in yards by 61, hitting 300 for the 2nd time this season. He gets the 6th-best remaining schedule for QB scoring by our adjusted fantasy points allowed -- tops in the league from Week 14 on.
Patriots WR DeVante Parker (knee) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. That leaves Jakobi Meyers, Tyquan Thornton, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor as New England’s top 4 WRs. Meyers is the only bankable Week 9 fantasy play.
Patriots WR Nelson Agholor (hamstring) is active for tonight's game against the Bears. WR Kendrick Bourne (toe) is inactive. We're expecting Agholor to serve as the #4 WR behind Jakobi Meyers, DeVante Parker and Tyquan Thornton.
