According to Steelers beat writer Mike DeFabo, rookie WR Germie Bernard “showed confident hands and good body control, especially near the sideline” this offseason. That's on brand for Bernard, who exited a four-year college career with a low 2.5% drop rate.
The Steelers and QB Aaron Rodgers have agreed to a one-year deal, according to multiple reports, with $22 million in guarantees and a max value of $25 million. Rodgers will now return for his second season in Pittsburgh and reunite with new HC Mike McCarthy for the first time since 2018. McCarthy served as Packers HC from 2006 -- the year after Green Bay drafted Rodgers -- until 2018, a span that included 11 seasons with Rodgers as the lead QB.
WR Michael Pittman has been traded from the Indianapolis Colts to the Pittsburgh Steelers. After signing Alec Pierce to a $28.5 million average annual salary, the Colts will move on from Pittman. The Steelers had little receiving depth behind WR D.K. Metcalf, so Pittman adds a No. 2 possession WR for HC Mike McCarthy's new offense. Unfortunately, the uncertainty around the Steelers QB position still makes Pittman a shaky fantasy asset, even if Aaron Rodgers returns.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin informed the team that he is stepping down as the head coach. The Steelers now will be looking for only their fourth head coach since 1969. Mike Tomlin has had a historic run as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach. He never had a losing season in 19 years as the Steelers' head coach. With one Super Bowl win and one loss, he made his mark on the franchise.
The NFL is suspending Steelers WR DK Metcalf two games for "initiating a physical confrontation with a fan" amid Sunday's win over the Lions. Metcalf is appealing the suspension, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The Steelers backfield has been a question mark all season with RB Jaylen Warren starting and having the primary rushing role but Kenneth Gainwell’s pass catching and blocking getting him plenty of work. Both paid off for fantasy managers this week. Warren went 14-143-2 on the ground and 2-8-0 through the air on 2 targets. Gainwell went 9-50-0 on the ground and 5-78-1 through the air on 7 targets. Gainwell’s TD came on an incredible catch at the end of the first half.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf (abdomen) practiced all week and is not listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game against the Dolphins. He should be ready for his usual role in that one and is safe to get into Week 15 fantasy lineups.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf (abdomen) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. He was hospitalized after experiencing stomach pain following last week's win over the Ravens, but he's on track to play vs. the Dolphins on Monday night.
Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that WR D.K. Metcalf is "moving in the right direction" and should be able to play vs. the Dolphins on Monday night. Metcalf was hospitalized after experiencing stomach pains following last week's win over the Ravens. But he was released a short while later and seems to be doing fine. We'll keep you updated on his status throughout the week, but it sounds like Metcalf will be available to use in Week 15 fantasy lineups.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf stayed overnight in Baltimore after being checked into a local hospital with stomach pain. There was fear of internal injuries after taking a hard shot in the Steelers Ravens game on Sunday. Ultimately, it was done out of an adbundance of caution and he was released to fly back to Pittsburgh today.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 13 injury report. He was sidelined on Wednesday but put in full practices on Thursday and Friday. Metcalf should be ready for his usual role against the Bills this weekend.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf (ankle) was a full-go in Thursday's practice after sitting out on Wednesday. He should be ready for his usual role vs. the Bills this weekend.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He played his usual snap rate in Sunday's loss to the Bears, so we're guessing this is early-week rest for the veteran. But we'll see if Metcalf gets back on the practice field tomorrow.
Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf injured his left ankle in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Bears. He put no weight on it as he was helped off the field. Metcalf is officially questionable to return.
Update: Metcalf returned near the end of the second quarter.
Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers (wrist) won't play vs. the Bears today, HC Mike Tomlin said. Rodgers was pushing to play but didn't get the green light from the team. We're expecting him back for Week 13. QB Mason Rudolph gets the start today. He's just a low-end QB2 in fantasy lineups, but we're not considering him a significant downgrade from Rodgers. We could see Pittsburgh run it a bit more today with Rodgers sidelined.
