Pat Bryant Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Broncos’ WR Marvin Mims Jr. left Wednesday’s practice early with a groin injury. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team isn’t “overly concerned.”

WR Devaughn Vele has been traded to the New Orleans Saints, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Broncos WR Marvin Mims started opposite WR Courtland Sutton in Saturday’s preseason contest against the San Francisco 49ers.

Broncos rookie WR Pat Bryant drew rave reviews in the first few days of Broncos training camp. His ability to get open and create easy throws for QB Bo Nix was on display. He was also noted for his soft hands and may be earning his way to playing time as a third-round rookie.

Broncos WR Troy Franklin has “stood out in a major way” in offseason practices, per beat writer Nick Kosmider. The second-year pro is coming off an underwhelming rookie season with 28 catches, 263 yards, and 2 TDs.

Broncos second-year WR Devaughn Vele has earned praise from multiple sources for his performance in early team workouts.

Broncos HC Sean Payton said "so many things" about WR Pat Bryant's game remind him of WR Michael Thomas. "Very explosive off the line of scrimmage, very competitive, very tough," Payton said of Bryant, who was selected by Denver in Round 3. "His size and his hands are outstanding. He’s physical."

The Broncos selected Illinois WR Pat Bryant with the 74th pick of Round 3 in the 2025 NFL Draft. At 6’2, 208 pounds, Bryant can win downfield with his length and strength at the catch point. After struggling with drops from 2021-2023, he tallied just one drop in 2024. Bryant played four seasons at Illinois, but he didn’t lead the team in receiving until2024. Last fall, he posted 984 yards and 10 TDs. He ranked a close second on the team in catches (54) behind first-year transfer (and sixth-year player) Zakhari Franklin. In 2023, Bryant ranked third on the team in catches and yards behind current NFL backups Isaiah Williams and Casey Washington. He had a 7.06 Relative Athletic Score (RAS) based on his predraft testing. He also ranked 16th among Combine WRs in 2024 Target Share at 23.9%, and seventh among those WRs in PFF Receiving Grade with an 86. He is currently 22 years old with a Breakout Age of 20.7. He ranked 21st among WRs in our Draft Sharks predraft Rookie Model scoring a 6.14. Our Comp for him in our Rookie Guide is Demarcus Robinson.
