Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed Monday that QB Matt Stafford (back) is set to start this weekend's opener vs. the Texans. Stafford is expected to be a full participant in practice this week.
Rams QB Matt Stafford has been setback-free since returning to practice a little over a week ago and is on track to play in the opener against the Texans, according to HC Sean McVay. “I can’t see into the future. But if you look at what the last week has entailed, I feel really good," McVay said. "And there’s nothing that would lead me to believe, unless we have an unforeseen setback, that he’s not gonna be ready to roll against the Texans."
Rams QB Matt Stafford (back) has been a full participant in practice this week, according to HC Sean McVay. And it sounds like his back has responded well to the work.
Rams QB Matthew Stafford returned to practice on Monday for the Rams. Stafford has been dealing with an aggravated disc in his back. It is a significant step toward getting Stafford on the field for Week 1, but the team will see how Stafford’s back responds and keep monitoring.
Rams QB Matt Stafford will work out on Saturday morning, HC Sean McVay said. It'll be similar to Stafford's workout ahead of last weekend's preseason game, when he threw more than 60 passes. "Hopefully [his back] responds a little bit better," McVay said.
Rams QB Matt Stafford (back) was expected to practice on Monday after a successful throwing session on Saturday. But Stafford did not take the field on Monday, instead heading to a "restorative and rejuvenation" chamber parked next to the Rams' practice field, according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop.
Rams QB Matt Stafford threw more than 60 passes on Saturday without limitations, HC Sean McVay said. “Looking forward to progressing him back into practice on Monday," McVay added.
Rams QB Matt Stafford (back) will work out on Saturday ahead of the team's preseason game against the Cowboys, HC Sean McVay said Thursday. If that goes well, Stafford will practice on Monday for the first time in training camp. McVay added that he believes Stafford would be able to play this week if the Rams were playing a regular season game.
Rams QB Matt Stafford remains sidelined with his back issue. HC Sean McVay said Saturday that Stafford will not participate in this coming week's joint practice with the Cowboys. McVay also revealed that Stafford recently saw back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins for the second time in the past two weeks.
Rams beat writer Cam DaSilva considers WR Jordan Whittington a potential breakout candidate in 2025. Whittington arrived last year as a 6th-round pick out of Texas, tallying 22 catches for 293 yards in 15 games.
Rams WR Puka Nacua said on a recent podcast that he plans to retire at 30. That'd mean six or seven more seasons for the soon-to-be 24-year-old. Nacua followed a huge 2023 rookie campaign by averaging even more catches (7.2) and yards per game (90.0) this past year. His 184 catches and 2,476 yards are both top-seven marks in NFL history by a WR through his first two seasons.
The Rams and QB Matthew Stafford have agreed to a restructured contract that will keep Stafford with the team at least through 2025, according to multiple reports. Stafford had reportedly drawn serious interest from the Raiders and Giants as a trade option.
The Rams have given QB Matt Stafford permission to gauge trade interest and value from other teams, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Stafford carries a $49.6 million cap number in 2025, but the Rams can save $27 million by trading him in a post-June 1 transaction or $23 million by making him a post-June 1 cut. Stafford, who turned 37 earlier in February, said that he plans to play in 2025, but it's now unclear who he'll be playing for.
Rams QB Matt Stafford, RB Kyren Williams, and WRs Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp won't play against the Seahawks this weekend, HC Sean McVay said Friday. A loss could drop Los Angeles from the No. 3 seed to the No. 4, but McVay will give his key contributors the week off anyway. QB Jimmy Garoppolo will get the start, and RB Blake Corum figures to handle most of the backfield work. Stay away from the WR corps in fantasy lineups.
The Rams have clinched the NFC West but need to beat the Seahawks on Sunday to secure the No. 3 seed. A loss would likely send them to No. 4. But HC Sean McVay strongly suggested on Monday that he'll rest starters against Seattle. "Typically, we’ve erred on the side of leaning a little bit more towards getting some rest and rejuvenation for guys because of the toll that a season takes," HC Sean McVay said. “I would imagine, as we continue to finalize our plans, that’s probably the direction that we’ll go.” McVay also said that he's "excited about watching Blake Corum get a heavy workload" and that he's excited to see rookie RB Cody Schrader play. Although he'll likely be running behind a backup offensive line against a solid Seahawks defense, Corum is shaping up as an interesting Week 18 fantasy play.
Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw for 320 yards and 2 TDs on 23 of 30 passing in Sunday's win over Buffalo. His passing yardage marked the second-highest by a QB against the Bills this season. He’s also now gone four straight games without an INT.
Rams WR Puka Nacua racked up 117 yards on 9 receptions in Sunday night's loss to the Eagles. He has topped 50% playing time in just four games this season. Each of those contests has seen him catch at least seven passes and tally 98+ yards.
Rams WR Demarcus Robinson caught two TDs against the Seahawks including the game-winning catch in Overtime. He caught six of nine targets for 94 yards and both receiving scores for the Rams.
Rams WR Puka Nacua was ejected near the end of the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks after throwing a punch. He finishes with one catch on four targets for 11 yards. Tough break for Nacua owners, but we don't expect any further discipline to come from this. Nacua should be back for next Monday night's game vs. the Dolphins.
Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Seahawks. He aggravated his knee injury on Thursday and did not practice on Friday. But Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer said this afternoon that Nacua will be a “full go” today. Get him in fantasy lineups.
