Matthew Stafford Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The rain wasn't the only thing falling in London on Sunday. Despite not having star WR Puka Nacua (ankle) active, QB Matthew Stafford tossed 5 TD passes in the Rams' 35-7 dismantling of the Jacksonville Jaguars. This was the fifth time in his career that Stafford has tossed 5 TDs in a game, but the first time with the Rams. Both teams will fly home and a Week 8 bye.

Rams WR Puka Nacua will "likely" miss time with an ankle sprain, NFL Network reports. "It would make sense for Nacua to be out next week against the Jaguars, then LAR has a bye to regroup and assess," Ian Rapoport tweeted. It continues to sound like Nacua dodged a serious injury, and the Week 8 bye comes at a nice time. But fantasy owners should prepare to be without the stud WR for at least Week 7. Nacua's absence will knock Matt Stafford out of QB1 consideration. WR Davante Adams will get a significant boost in target upside, while WR Jordan Whittington could be a low-level spot starter. We'll see if WR Tutu Atwell is able to return after missing Week 6 with a hamstring injury.

Rams WR Puka Nacua has an ankle injury and is uncertain for next weekend's game vs. the Jaguars, HC Sean McVay said after the win over the Ravens. Nacua played very sparingly in the second half of that one was clearly wasn't himself. We'll track his status this coming week, but the Rams' Week 8 bye might factor into the decision on whether Nacua plays in London. QB Matt Stafford struggled without Nacua vs. Baltimore, finishing with just 181 yards and one TD on 7.0 yards per attempt.

Rams QB Matt Stafford turned in another strong performance in Thursday night's overtime loss to the 49ers. He completed 30 of 47 passes (64%) for 389 yards (8.3 YPA), three TDs, and 0 INTs. His connection with WR Puka Nacua was on point, as usual. The duo hooked up on 10 of 12 passes for 85 yards and a score. WR Davante Adams led the Rams with 88 yards on five grabs. And RB Kyren Williams was on the receiving end of two of Stafford's TDs. His best throw of the night, though, was a cross-field bomb to WR Tutu Atwell on a deep post for 38 yards in overtime. Even at 37 years old, Stafford still has one of the best arms in the league.

Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed Monday that QB Matt Stafford (back) is set to start this weekend's opener vs. the Texans. Stafford is expected to be a full participant in practice this week.

Rams QB Matt Stafford has been setback-free since returning to practice a little over a week ago and is on track to play in the opener against the Texans, according to HC Sean McVay. “I can’t see into the future. But if you look at what the last week has entailed, I feel really good," McVay said. "And there’s nothing that would lead me to believe, unless we have an unforeseen setback, that he’s not gonna be ready to roll against the Texans."

Rams QB Matt Stafford (back) has been a full participant in practice this week, according to HC Sean McVay. And it sounds like his back has responded well to the work.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford returned to practice on Monday for the Rams. Stafford has been dealing with an aggravated disc in his back. It is a significant step toward getting Stafford on the field for Week 1, but the team will see how Stafford’s back responds and keep monitoring.

Rams QB Matt Stafford will work out on Saturday morning, HC Sean McVay said. It'll be similar to Stafford's workout ahead of last weekend's preseason game, when he threw more than 60 passes. "Hopefully [his back] responds a little bit better," McVay said.

Rams QB Matt Stafford threw more than 60 passes on Saturday without limitations, HC Sean McVay said. “Looking forward to progressing him back into practice on Monday," McVay added.
