Simi Fehoko Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He missed Monday night's loss to the Cardinals and is seemingly in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Saints. WR Simi Fehoko stepped into Johnston's spot vs. the Cardinals, catching three of six targets for 45 yards.

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (hip) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Cardinals. WR Simi Fehoko (shoulder, groin) is also active. WRs Derius Davis (hamstring) and WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) are inactive. WR D.J. Chark (groin) was not activated and won’t play tonight. McConkey, Josh Palmer, and Fehoko figure to serve as Los Angeles’ top three WRs in this one.

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (ankle) did not practice all week and is doubtful for Monday night's game vs. the Cardinals. WR Ladd McConkey (hip) is listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. WRs D.J. Chark (groin), Derius Davis (hamstring), and Simi Fehoko (shoulder, groin) are also officially questionable. Josh Palmer and Brendan Rice are the only healthy WRs on the active roster. We'll see if the Chargers make a promotion from the practice squad ahead of kickoff. McConkey has been the only fantasy-viable WR here for most of the season. If you were hoping to start him this week, make sure you have a backup plan from the Chargers, Cardinals, Bucs, or Ravens rostered in case the rookie ends up inactive on Monday night.

Chargers WR Josh Palmer (calf, elbow) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Steelers. His absence likely means more snaps for WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko, but neither is a fantasy option. WRs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey could pick up extra targets with Palmer out.

Chargers WR Josh Palmer (calf, elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. He didn’t practice all week, so he’s likely on the bad side of 50/50. Palmer’s absence would likely mean more snaps for WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko, but neither is a fantasy option. WRs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey could pick up extra targets.

Chargers WR Jalen Guyton (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. That leaves WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko behind top two WRs Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston. Davis and Fehoko aren’t bankable fantasy plays. Los Angeles’ offense should be even more concentrated today, with Allen and RB Austin Ekeler running the show.

Chargers WR Jalen Guyton (groin) will not play vs. the Packers today, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Guyton hurt his groin in Friday's practice and might be out beyond Week 11. He had emerged as a full-time player with WRs Mike Williams and Josh Palmer out, playing 79% of the Chargers' offensive snaps and drawing six targets last week. Guyton's absence today leaves WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko behind top two WRs Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston. Neither Davis nor Fehoko is a realistic fantasy play. It's another big opportunity for Johnston today.

Chargers WR Josh Palmer (knee) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Jets. That will pretty much force the Chargers to put rookie WR Quentin Johnston in an every-down role. Palmer's absence obviously makes Johnston a better Week 9 fantasy bet, but he's still a shaky play against the league's top-ranked WR defense. It'll be WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko behind WRs Keenan Allen and Johnston.

Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Bucs. The rookie had a rough August and is now behind WRs Noah Brown, Simi Fehoko and Dennis Houston -- along with, of course, CeeDee Lamb.

Cowboys insider Bryan Broaddus "wouldn't be surprised" if WR Jalen Tolbert was a healthy scratch for Sunday night's opener vs. the Cowboys. We knew Tolbert had a disappointing August, but it'd still be surprising if he was scratched considering the Cowboys will be without WRs Michael Gallup and James Washington. The takeaway, of course, is that Tolbert should be nowhere near fantasy lineups. Noah Brown figures to serve as Dallas' #2 WR this week. WRs Simi Fehoko and Dennis Houston could also see snaps.

Jon Machota of The Athletic named Cowboys WR Simi Fehoko as the “biggest surprise” in training camp. Machota mentions WR Noah Brown as another strong candidate, but it’s Fehoko who’s mentioned as looking “ready to contribute in year 2.” The Stanford product made only 5 appearances as a rookie and didn’t catch a ball — hardly a surprise as a Round 5 pick on a (then) strong WR corps. Injuries to Michael Gallup and James Washington, plus the trade of Amari Cooper, have given guys like Fehoko a shot to emerge. The 24-year-old goes 6’4, 222 pounds with sub-4.5 speed, so he has some intriguing tools to work with.

Cowboys WRs Simi Fehoko and T.J. Vasher have gotten a "ton of work" with Dak Prescott this week, thanks to James Washington and Jalen Tolbert being sidelined, according to David Helman of the team website. Helman added that he saw Fehoko "make 2-3 nice snags." It's assumed that Washington and Tolbert will run ahead of Fehoko and Vasher when healthy, but Tolbert was a 3rd-round pick and Washington signed a small 1-year deal. We're betting on Tolbert and Washington being more relevant as well, but neither is guaranteed a starting role. We'll be watching to see how the WR corps sorts out behind CeeDee Lamb.
